Periodically we hold "New Members Week at the UCC." If you are interested in membership or know of someone who might be, please contact any member of our Diaconate, or contact the church office.

New Members Week typically begins with a fellowship gathering in the church on  a Sunday evening. This is an opportunity for prospective members to learn about our church from members on various boards and committees. On the following Sunday morning, we share a welcome breakfast for new members and their mentors prior to the worship service when the new members are received into our church family.  Within a few weeks after new members join the church, the Diaconate hosts a Foundations Forum at the church. This gathering, open to new and current members alike, is a program on the theology, spirituality and history of the UCC, with special emphasis on our own Vermillion church.

The Diaconate is always looking for families or individuals who would be willing to become mentors to new members. This simple gift of friendship helps us all become more aware of needs, concerns and questions as new people become an active part of our community.
