MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) (Gina Zuercher)

Regular Meetings: Second and Fourth Thursdays, 6:30 pm, in the church basement

Moms and their pre-school aged children are welcome to come together for fellowship and support in this important program.

Lighthouse (Doug and Sara Peterson, Kurt Hackemer)
High School Youth

Regular Openings: Wednesdays, 8:30-10:30 pm, in the Lighthouse

Our drop-in center for high-school youth. Come eat, do homework or just hang out before Taize!

Taize Prayer Service (Steve Miller)

Regular Meetings: Wednesdays, 10:00-10:45 pm, at Danforth Chapel

A quiet, reflective evening prayer service using the beautiful music of the Taize Community. A meditative and restful way to mark the mid-week. All University and Vermillion community are welcome.

Welcome Table (John Lushbough)

Regular Schedule:  Every Monday, 5:30-7:00 pm, First United Methodist Church, 16 N. Dakota Street

The Welcome Table was founded in early 2001. The primary activity of the Welcome Table is to provide a good meal along with friendly company to anyone who wishes to attend. This meal is provided free of charge.

A wonderful and life-giving discussion about the basis and boundaries of our faith; we will hold our gatherings in homes this year.

United Congregational Women (Jill Macy, Erna Carlson)

Regular Meetings: First Thursday of the month, 9:30 am, in Pilgrim Hall

A fellowship and learning opportunity for all women in our community.

Boy Scout Troop 66

Regular Meetings:  Tuesday nights during the school year at 7PM 

The church has sponsored this scout troop since it was first chartered in 1927.

Vermillion Community Theatre

VCT encourages community participation in all aspects of the theatre and develops and promotes theatre arts in Southeast South Dakota. With the wonderful cooperation of the Vermillion School district the VCT offers technically ambitious productions in a first class performing arts center. The VCT strives to develop shows with broad community interest that can actively involve a wide spectrum of the community in age, background and interest.
